Forest Certification

Forest certification, through the UK Woodland Assurance Scheme (UKWAS), provides owners and timber processors with an internationally recognised standard which demonstrates that woodlands are managed sustainably.

UKWAS certified woods can give greater access to the timber markets and, for some timber products, result in a price premium. In addition, certification helps owners demonstrate they are meeting their environmental and social and corporate governance commitments.

Bronwin & Abbey Ltd uses a dual certification scheme audited by the Soil Association in compliance with the international standards by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and the Forest Certification Standards Endorsement Program (PEFC)

Our services include:

  • Pre-certification assessments of woodlands and management procedures
  • UKWAS compliant management plans and maps
  • Working with woodland owners to ensure compliance with the UKWAS standard
  • Membership of the Bronwin & Abbey group certification scheme
    • FSC® Group scheme FSC - C020966
    • PEFC Group Scheme PEFC -/16-40-2178
