Forest certification has increased in importance in recent years as the end users of timber require assurance that their timber is derived from sustainably managed woods. In the UK, the agreed standard for forest certification is the UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS).

Andrew Bronwin & Co Ltd runs its own FSC® group certification scheme. Licence (SA-FM/COC-001216).

Access to grant aid in England for properties over 100 hectares may be dependent on certification to UKWAS standard. Forest Certification often commands a premium on the price paid by the mills and some mills now refuse to purchase timber which is not certified.

Services offered:

  • Pre certification assessments of woodlands and management procedures
  • UKWAS compliant management plans and maps
  • Membership of Andrew Bronwin & Co group certification scheme
  • Ongoing support and compliance with the scheme
